Winter Update

Well the last couple of days we have been getting dumped on! There is a lot of snow, it is really beautiful outside. I saw today's writing prompt and really wanted to reply.

Today's One Minute Writer:
Write about how the weather affects you emotionally, or recall a weather-related memory.

This was my reply:
I remember one time when we were up in Priest River, ID (where my Mom grew up) and my brother Stephen and I made a igloo in the snow up there. We played outside in the snow all day long and it was so much fun! When we were kids our neighbors use to pick us up and pull us behind their car in sleds, we loved hookie bobbing!

Whoa! 1 minute goes by so fast! Try it, haha. There is SO much more that I could say just about SNOW memories! Oh well, that's the fun of it only saying as much as you can in one minute.

I realize I never really told you about last weekend. My cousin Brett was in town so we got to hang out with he and Mikalla on Thursday and Friday night after work. Thursday we went to Jon and Gina's house (my cousins) and ended up visiting until midnight. I love chatting with my family! I am so grateful to have such wonderful relationships with all of my cousins. On Friday night after work Brett and Mikalla came over. We had a lot of fun playing with his new Apple computer. I love it when people get mac's, it is so exciting to me! haha.

We had a lot of fun on Saturday. Our work Christmas party was early in the morning at Costco. We showed up and got $75 in Costco Cash, each! yay! At the party they had crepes and breakfast burritos, which we really enjoyed. Then we just had time to shop around. I wasn't feeling well so I headed home and took a hot bath (which I already wrote about) and Kory went to work. I met him at work a little bit later. We were able to go to the Provo temple that night. It was such a good experience. We left the temple both feeling very uplifted and happy. Then we went home and watched Elf! I love that movie.

On Sunday we went to church at our new ward again. We LOVE our new ward! They are SO nice and SO welcoming! We got to meet our new bishop and Kory participated in sacrament meeting. Needless to say, we're jumping right in! There are a lot of outgoing, cute, married couples. Its so different than a singles ward, its neat to have a different experience. After church we headed up to Heber to go see Celeste and Brian and family. We were up there for a few hours visiting. I LOVE visiting family. Its fun to visit Kory's family because I enjoy getting to know them better and better. Celeste is so much fun. We're glad that we got to go hang out with all of the Pearson's for a few hours. Brian's family is so sweet, both of his parents came and gave me a hug and welcomed us. We loved it. We headed back home and then the Elder's Quorum came over to get to know us...I know, awesome huh?

Basically we had a really great weekend. Anytime we get to visit with lots of family, go to the temple, watch a good movie, and feel welcomed by our new ward...good weekend.

And now it's Friday again! Yay! Kory is taking his last two finals today. Pray for him!

Candle Lit Bubble Bath

When was the last time to took a moment to yourself for a hot bubble bath, with the lights off and only candles lit? I did this morning, and it was incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend you do the same thing soon. Ask for enough time as one of your Christmas gifts or something. I think we easily forget how great a hot bubble bath by candle light is. As soon as I laid in the water I felt this instant removal or stress and was filled with relaxation. It really was a great way to prepare me for the day.

This pictures is NOT of me, and the glass she has is sparkling cider ;) haha. I just thought it was a good explanation of the relaxation you get from a bubble bath...try it.

One Minute Writer

I just came across this blog that prompts you to write about something for one minute each day. Every day you are given a prompt and you are supposed to hit start for the timer and take your one minute to respond to it. There are some thought provoking prompts. I thought it was kind of neat.

Example of a prompt: What is a most memorable birthday? If you could do over one thing in you life what would you like to do better?

Christmas is Here!

Last week Kory and I got a Christmas tree and decorated it. It was so cheap at Big Lots! Even our ornaments were really cheap, but they look great! We have been listening to Christmas music and drinking hot chocolate made from our amazing Cocoa-Latte almost every night, haha. We are loving the Christmas season! Here are some pictures of our tree! We don't have anything to put on top so I just tied a bow, haha. We got our ribbon at Costco for cheap too! I exchanged it from wedding ribbon I didn't use. I LOVE our tree. I am pretty excited about it.

We are also starting to get things more and more put together and decorated. We got a lot done when we first moved in, but somehow there is always more and more to do. We got some really great things for wedding gifts and we love finding ways to incorporate them into our home and our lives. It is fun to be doing something or see something and think, "hey so-and-so got this for us!" It is very precious. We sure love everyone who has extended their love and support to us as we've started our new life together. I thought I might share some pictures of our apartment because I know many of you--well most of you--haven't had the chance to see it yet!

This is what it's like when you walk in.

Then when you walk in right on the left you see the first French board of our engagements on it. Then the other frame is across the room in the corner. The fireplace is on the right side of the living room. The end table is in the corner right next to the fireplace.

This is the overview pics of the room.

Then you have the kitchen table (all set for dinner one night), the bed, and the bathroom decorations.

There you go! I hope you enjoyed the picture tour. Especially the Christmas tree!

BTW I know the the red/purplish colors totally clash...but hey you work with what you have right?

I Love Special K with Berries! Yum!

Kory got me some last night. I am pretty excited about it this morning!

The HONEYMOON! And a Happy 1 Month!

We celebrated 1 month of being married yesterday! Can you believe that? Man time flies by so quickly. We had such a wonderful month though. I absolutely love being married to Kory.

We had such a great time on our honeymoon! We went on a cruise for the Eastern Caribbean. It was so fun to be vacationing with each other. We were bummed out we didn't really get to see the islands very much, but at least we got a sneak preview. Cruises are fun, but really most of the experience is on the ship so it almost doesn't matter where you go. I think Kory and I would like to go back to St. Thomas and spend a few days there for one of our anniversary's way down the road, haha. We couldn't have asked for a better experience though. I can never get enough sun! I love it!

These are all of the pictures from when we first got on the ship. We have to do an emergency drill and all of that fun stuff. Kory is modeling the life jacket for you, haha. He is so fun. I was just being silly making a face.

This is the "Sail Away Party," the beautiful sunset, and the balloons on our door saying we're special because we are on our honeymoon.

This was our first dinner on the ship and then our first day off the ship hanging out on the beach. The first day we were at Princess Kays. We just laid out and got some sun. Then Kory and I went swimming. It was a relaxed day, we really enjoyed it.

Then we had the first formal night. We went to dinner at one of the special restaurants. It was an Italian place, but way more Italian than I have ever experienced apparently. It was all sea food! Yuck! I was so excited for some good old spaghetti bolognese or fettucini alfredo...but noooo they served sea food stuff. Kory enjoyed the experience of trying new things. I got sick to my stomach, haha. It was beautiful though. We really enjoyed the romantic setting. They even sang to us and gave us a special cake for our honeymoon. They sang "Happy honeymoon to you, happy honeymoon to you, happy honeymoon, happy honeymoon, happy honeymoon to you," very nervously haha, it was cute/funny. I just loved the moment. Kory is so handsome and I just fall more in love with him every day.

Then we had St. Marten. We walked around the city for a while trying to find sun screen that was cheaper than on the ship. Surprisingly we actually succeeded! I couldn't believe that I didn't have mine. Oh well, we got some so we could work on our tans. After walking around the city a bit we laid out on the beach and went swimming. It was so hot that day, it felt really good to go for a swim. After hanging out for a bit we went and got something to eat at a local diner. It was good food at a pretty good price so it worked out great!

Then St Thomas. Unfortunately we only had 7 hours on this island and it was the island we were looking forward to the most! We had so much fun though. This was Thanksgiving day. We went on an excursion snorkling. We sailed on a "pirate ship" to a place called Turtle Cove where we jumped in the water and saw so many fish and different types of coral. We also got to swim so close to sea turtles we could have touched them, but we didn't because it is illegal (they are endangered). After that adventure we sailed over to a beach you can only get to by boat called Honeymoon Beach. It was really quiet and pretty. We had a BBQ there, and then Kory and I spelled our names in coral. When we got back to port we saw iguanas everywhere, it was crazy. We had to leave earlier than we would have liked, but it was a great day!

This was our Thanksgiving dinner. Our first holiday together as newlyweds. So fun. We had about 6 desserts between the two of us, haha. Of course we had to take pictures of how beautiful and yummy they looked! Later that night they had a champagne tower, it was fun to watch.

The next morning we played Bingo and then got to Grand Turk at 1PM. Kory won a free Bingo card playing in free Blackjack tournament the night before. He won the tournament so he got a free bingo card and some other stuff. Too bad he didn't win when you got $500! haha. He had fun playing in the casino a bit, I got sick of it pretty quick. But bingo was fun. They also did cool sculptings in the watermelon at the buffet. Kory took a picture of that. Grand Turk was a lot of fun. The island was demolished by a hurricane two months ago. So the cruislines pumped a bunch of money (like millions) into revamping the port/beach/shopping area right there. When we got off the ship it was the place we were most impressed with...probably because it was all brand new and recently remodeled! The cool thing about Grand Turk is that there were conch shells everywhere on the beach! So we walked down the beach and picked our favorite. Then we had fun doing more sand art :). It was a great day. We had dinner at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. Then sailed away again, this time back toward Florida.

Our last dinner on the ship was SOOO MUCH FUN! I don't know why but we were just laughing and being silly the whole time. All of the waiters loved us and were laughing with us. Except for one, he came up to our table and said "Please don't do that...in my country we call that PDA-public display of affection." hahahaha, were weren't even kissing! We were just laughing a lot and I had my head on his shoulder. He said he really missed his girfriend and it was hard for him to watch us being so happy together...we're on our honeymoon get over it! jk. It was a really fun dinner though. We ate at the other special restaurant onboard. The food was amazing, and the dessert was amazing. So overall it was a great experience!

We got back to Florida the next day and headed to the hotel. Kory wasn't feeling well so we took a nap. Then we went out for dinner and walked along the little shopping district. We found a gourmet Belgian Chocolate Factory which sold gelato too. We enjoyed our little treat from there. It reminded me of Europe.

The next morning we packed up to fly home. But before going to the airport we went over to the little cafe downstairs and had crepes for breakfast, yum!

Overall we just had the best time ever. Seriously we have been extremely blessed this month to be having wonderful experiences. We are very grateful for the memories we have been making, and our friends and family who love and support us. Getting married is the best!
