CONGRATULATIONS Kory!!!

Yesterday Kory got accepted to his major within the BYU Marriott School of Business!

Just in case you didn't know why that is so cool... Business Week ranked the BYU Marriott School #5 in the nation for top undergraduate business schools! Ranked above UC-Berkely, MIT, Cornell, and Emory!

Mom is really excited that Kory will be hanging out at her old stomping grounds. She graduated from the Marriott School of Business in Accounting. Everyone else is excited for him too!

Kory we're so proud of you, congrats!

By the way... don't forget to check out the blog posted before this and comment for the give-away! One more spot left! :)

How My Husband Shows Me He Loves Me

I love Kory, with all of my heart. I know he loves me too, because he does the cutest and sweetest things to show me that he does. This last week he did a few.

1. One morning he had to wake up at 6 AM so that he could study for his test before he had to go to class. I woke up long enough to make sure he was getting up, then I was out. Kory got ready, and studied for his test. Then 10 minutes before he left, he climbed back in bed (already dressed and ready for the day) and cuddled with me. It meant so much to me that he saved 10 minutes so that he could cuddle with me before he left for the day. It totally made my day.

2. I had just gotten out of the shower and was hurrying to get ready really quick so we could head to work (I had been working in the house all morning and hadn't had time to get ready yet). Then Kory came around the corner with something behind his back and a big smile on his face. I faced him and started smiling, "what do you have?" He kissed me then handed me a beautiful bouquet of orange lilies! (I think they are lilies). For no reason at all, no special occasion, nothing...just because he loves me.

3. Last night I was doing the laundry and I shut the tip of my finger in the folding door. I was tough for about 30 seconds but it hurt!! bad!! I started sniffling as the tears started to form. I was over by the door about to take the garbage out when Kory runs over to me and tells me to put the garbage down. I put it down and proceed to tell him, "I smashed my finger in the door!" (haha this makes me laugh typing it) He heard the "I'm about to cry sniffles" and came running. Kory put his arms around me and comforted me telling me it would be ok. That's the best! I LOVE it when he comforts me and just says it will be ok, it ALWAYS makes me feel better no matter what. He got a bag of ice for me. I said, "why do we need to ice it?" He looked at me like I don't know the answer to that and then said, "we just do." haha, I told him it made me think of how he is going to be as a father when our kids are always asking him "why?" ..."Because I'm your father and I said so."

It means so much to me that my husband does the little things to show me that he loves me. Married life is the best, I could not be happier! I feel so lucky to have Kory as my eternal companion. This is my way of bragging about him, and saying thank you...I love you Kory.

We're Married! Woot Woot!

Oh my gosh this weekend was SO fun! Kory and I were married in the temple for time and all of eternity. Then we just got to take tons of pictures and celebrate with friends and family! It was so great! I got to see so many friends and family members. It was truly a special occasion sharing this experience with everyone. It meant so much to me that everyone traveled so far to be there to support us. We sure love you and appreciate you so much!

I will tell you more of the wedding/reception details when I get the pictures back in a month or so. For now I'm going to tell you about our first weekend as newlyweds. We went to this cute little Inn tucked away in the mountains. The room was beautiful, the food was fantastic, and the service was wonderful. But most of all, the company was amazing. I have grown to love Kory so much more over the last week. I can't wait to see how our love continues to grow over our lifetime.

We ate a lot of amazing food this weekend. The Blue Boar Inn has a Blue Ribbon chef. We had a five course Sunday brunch, and then another amazing breakfast on Monday morning. We also went to another special place of ours and had an incredible dinner. So sorry most of our pictures are of us eating, haha, I couldn't resist capturing it on camera! We also went on a nice little drive up in the mountains, and fed the ducks at the state park. It was just so wonderful to relax and spend quality time together. Here are some pics!

This is Kory feeding the ducks, haha. My laugh is so silly in this video.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KORY! (October 24th)

We celebrated Kory's birthday last week! It was so fun. His birthday was Friday the 24th. I wanted to do something really special for him so I decided to plan a surprise birthday party! I originally had it planned for Friday, but I found that a lot of our friends already had plans or things going on so they wouldn't be able to make it. So, I planned the party for Thursday instead (the day before Kory's actual birthday, what better way to surprise than to throw a party the day before? haha).

Things went really well all day long. That morning I took Kory to school then ran to the store to get party stuff: happy birthday plates and cups, birthday hats, birthday noise makers, and birthday streamers. Then I ran to Costco and got a chocolate birthday plate. I only had a limited amount of time before I had to get Kory from school so I ran the things over to my friend Emily's apartment for her to bring over to our apartment later. I was able to swing by the post office on campus to drop of some invitations that needed to be mailed and buy more stamps. It saved me a lot of time instead of having to run all the way to the Provo or Orem post offices. I picked up Kory for a little bit and then he had to go back to school again to take his statistics test. That gave me enough time to run to the creamery on campus and get balloons and candles, and then drop those things off at Emily's also. I ran home to shower and get ready I cleaned the apartment and did some finishing touches on the decorations. I hung up a frame with some of our engagement pictures and another french style bulletin board with pictures on it. I arranged for friends to bring all of the things I had picked up, ice cream, and root beer.

Kory and I went to work and had a normal day. As we started wrapping up and getting ready to go home I was starting to get anxious and excited. I called friends really quick to make sure that everything was running smoothly. Then the whole way home I was texting them to give them the play by play. Kory was driving and I noticed he didn't make the turn to go home. I asked why and he said he was heading straight to our Bishop's interview (which I had secretly rescheduled for later). I told him I needed to go home first so he re-directed towards home again. As we approached our door there was a skateboard sitting outside of our door and Kory stopped and looked really puzzled. He checked to make sure the door was locked...

Kory's Version:

So we're going to our interview with Bishop, and we start passing our street, and she's like "where are you going?" I reply Bishops, as in, duh, don't you know? My type-A inherited from my father was on a scheduled basis right now. She replied then that she had to go home first. Partially annoyed, I didn't ask why and just decided to go home. As I approach our apartment door there's a skateboard outside. Puzzled, I'm looking around this skateboard, and then I just say aloud, "punk kids." Then as I'm about to unlock the door, I get this gut feeling that something isn't normal inside. I immediately just think to myself, "some kids must have broken into our apartment." I check the door and it's locked. I unlock the door and open it only to satisfy my presumption, seeing something white hanging from wall to wall in front of me. "The punks TPed my apartment!" I thought to myself. Then, keep in mind this all processed within 3 seconds ... then the lights flip on and .. "SURPRISE!" ..... yes, I was surprised. 1. who's in my house 2. how'd you get in here 3. why are you here? ... "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Oh, yeah, it's my birthday! HA! I was totally not expecting anything to happen walking into my house that night. Ana Lee was successful with her surprise intentions. My next issue ... what do you say to your guests at a surprise birthday ...? Best I could come up with was "thanks for coming!" hahaha.

It was so fun throwing a surprise party or Kory! I loved it. After everyone had some cake and ice cream we gathered in the living room and talked for a while. Then we played the game where everyone took a turn saying something that they love about Kory. There were so many wonderful things said. Kory is one of those people that others really enjoy, admire, and grow to love. It was very apartment that his friends think very highly of him.

On Kory's real brithday. I took him to Tucanos for lunch, it was a special occasion! :) We had a lot of fun.

Well Kory, I just want you to know that I love you very much. I am so proud of you and I am continuously amazing by you. I hope that you had a wonderful birthday, and that I am able to pull off many more surprises in our future :) Happy Birthday!
