Top Ten!

I was tagged by my wonderful sister-in-law Celeste! :) I am supposed to write my top ten things with the letter "N." She had to do ten things for the letter "H," which is the starting letter of her maiden name. Of course "N" stands for Nelson, which is my maiden name! Did you do that on purpose Celeste? haha. Here we go!

1. Newlywed (being one)

2. Nightlife (even though lately I'm just tired at night!)

Me in Italy enjoying all the music and socializing on the Florence Bridge above. Kory and I at our first concert, Ben Folds, below.

3. Naps (because I'm always tired! haha)
4. Nationality (I'm an American Studies major)
I went to New York city with some friends working for the Republican Party.

5. Nature
Beautiful Switzerland 2006 above. And my favorite road to drive on in Kauai below.

6. Navigation (makes road trips easier)

7. Nectarine (and other fresh fruit)
8. Napkins
9. Neighbors
10. Nostalgia (ie. for me represents having/making good memories)

That was kind of tricky! I tag Janessa with "T" Jeni with "C" Debra with "M" and Becca with "S".

Sick of Work

I am sick of work. I don't really enjoy being here or even a lot of the people I work with. Sometimes I like this job, sometimes I don't...lately I don't. The whole time I'm here I just think of the things that annoy me. Kory isn't very motivated lately at work either, I can't blame him.

I just want to plan my trip down to California to go see Jeni and Hugh, their new baby boy Lincoln and the cutest girls ever, Ryann and Reagan. I miss their family! I was so sad I didn't get to see them when I was down there last week.

I will be blogging about my brothers return from his mission soon...Mom has all of the pics and I'm waiting on those.

On another note...I can't wait for general conference and Boise the next weekend to see all of our family and hear Stephen report his mission in church.

CONGRATULATIONS Kory!!!

Yesterday Kory got accepted to his major within the BYU Marriott School of Business!

Just in case you didn't know why that is so cool... Business Week ranked the BYU Marriott School #5 in the nation for top undergraduate business schools! Ranked above UC-Berkely, MIT, Cornell, and Emory!

Mom is really excited that Kory will be hanging out at her old stomping grounds. She graduated from the Marriott School of Business in Accounting. Everyone else is excited for him too!

Kory we're so proud of you, congrats!

By the way... don't forget to check out the blog posted before this and comment for the give-away! One more spot left! :)

Ana Lee's Own Giveaway!

" Here is the deal: The first five people to comment on this post will get something made by me.
My choice.
For you.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be photography, I may sew or paint something. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely creative."

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your own blog and offer the same deal to 5 of your own lucky blog readers. So, the first 5 people to leave a comment telling me they are in, win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it."

My friend Lauren posted this on her blog. I was so excited I almost was the first to post a comment without reading the rest. Then I figured, I should probably read the rest before I post. I hesitated for a second but decided that this is a really great idea! I am excited to use my talents to create something for my family/friends. Also, Lauren is very talented, I am excited to see what she will make for me. This will be fun!

Where Has the Time Gone!?

I haven't blogged in forever because (1) We're super busy, and (2) Kory has his computer all of the time so I can't get the pictures off of his camera.

We have some fun pics from our Canada trip (February 18-22) I'd like to share. That trip was so great! We flew up to Seattle on Wednesday night. Rick picked us up from the airport and took us over to Don and Jodi's house. It was fun to see the Fowles and get a tour of their new business operation, Eagle Ink. Thursday morning we woke up and got ready to head to the shop to catch the super nice charter bus. But first, Kory had to take me to get a donut from the Donut Shop, yum! I loved having a chance to get away, and hang out with Mom and Dad Hjelm, and Celeste and Bryan. Up in Canada we went out to dinner, played card games, and relaxed in the hot pools. Good times! We came home Saturday, and Kory and I went to see the Fowles again. Later Adam (Carissa's husband) flew in Saturday night because he had interviews in Tacoma the next few days. It was fun to have him there, all of us played cards again that night. I told Rick we had to have his famous guacamole before I left, so for Sunday dinner we had fajitas! Kory and I both love family time.

Coming home was a little stressful. I just have so much school work all of the time it is hard to keep up. Then with work on top of that. I've been doing ok lately.

The next weekend, February 28th, we got to go to Savannah Cheney's baptism! It was so fun to see the Cheney cousins. After the baptism Jon and Gina has us over for naffle waffles, which are waffles with ice cream and strawberries. Can you tell it was Savannah's choice? Klyn, Kay Lynn, Brett and Mikalla were all there. We had fun visiting. Then Brett, Mikalla, Kory and I went downstairs and watched the movie Sky High. I love that movie, I think it is cute. We totally forgot our camera though! We were so busy leaving straight from work it slipped our minds.

That night Kory and I celebrated our year of dating :) We went to California Pizza Kitchen at the Gateway which is where we had our first "date." After dinner we went to Barnes and Noble and read through some books together. It was actually really fun. We saw The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey at Jon and Gina's house earlier that day. I am always talking about things that Dave Ramsey says with Kory. So he was inspired to get us the book. It was a fun little date.

I can't believe it is already half way through March and here I am telling you about February! This month I have been counting my calories at Livestrong. It is totally free and it has been a lot of fun to see how I am doing just being healthy.

Other than that we have just been enjoying having a nice sunny day every now and then. Also some random snowy days. We are both keeping super busy with work and school. And I am getting super excited to pick my brother from his mission on the 25th! Woo hoo!

Valentine's Day...Sorry So Delayed

I haven't been updating (1)Our Valentine's Day was SOOOOO great! We slept in, yay! When we woke up I made heart shaped pancakes and cheesy eggs for breakfast, yummy! Then we just cuddled on the couch and watched a movie, which we never have time to do anymore so it was SO NICE!

Later in the afternoon we showered and got ready. Then we went to the Provo temple and did a session. It's the first time we have gone to the temple and haven't really felt rushed, it was just so peaceful and relaxing. The best way to celebrate our love and eternal marriage. When we went in to the temple it was freezing cold and snowing. Then when we came out it the sky was clear and crisp. The sun was setting and the snow was fresh. The temple fountains were going. It was so beautiful!

After the temple we went to Tucano's Brazillian Grill. It was so good. They had red table clothes, amazing food, and they gave us a bunch of chocolate covered strawberries and me a flower at the end of our meal! Yeah!

This was the best Valentine's Day I have ever had. It was THE BEST!
