Salt Lake Temple

Kory and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Since then it has become an even more significant and special place to me. Kory and I were able to go on an unplanned little date together after seeing Britlynn. Since we were close to downtown Salt Lake City, we decided to go to Temple Square and walk around the beautiful Temple that we were married in. When you go there, they have a visitor's center that you can go through. One of the really neat things in the visitor's center is the statue of Jesus Christ. It had been a really long time since I had been there and seen it, so we went over there too. I love going to Temple Square because it is always so peaceful and beautiful.

After we walked around the Temple grounds we were able to go to Buca di Beppo for dinner. It was delicious!

I wanted to get a picture of Kory and me in front of the statue, so Kory asked a woman who was also there to take the picture for us. He chose to ask the woman who was already holding a camera, assuming she would know how to take a picture. Unfortunately, she was also French and didn't speak English haha. She did the best she could :)

I'm using my laptop because I am in Washington and obviously didn't want to bring my iMac all this way. My laptop has an older version of iPhoto though, so it isn't as easy to adjust the pictures. We were losing daylight quickly by the time we were taking pictures outside. You can't even see the picture with just me, I'll have to edit the brightness when I get back to Utah.

I know some of you don't know very much about LDS Temples. Since Kory and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple, and now that we are working on remodeling the Seattle Temple I thought you may be interested in knowing a little bit more about the Temple. Below is a short video that was made by the LDS church to explain the significance of them. I love going to the Temple, it is a special place that makes me feel closer to my Heavenly Father. I know that Kory and I are married and sealed together for eternity because of the covenants we made together there.

Baby Britlynn

I'm determined to get at least one blog post up before we leave for church at 1PM. Kory and I are in Washington state right now. Things have been crazy busy because we're working on the Seattle Temple remodel with Kory's dad's company. We completely tore out the ceiling, wallpaper, baseboards, and soon the carpet of the 3rd floor. They reconstructed the ceiling, and put in beautiful decorative columns in the hallways to add nice dimension. The third floor is going to be absolutely beautiful when we are done with it. I'll keep you posted more on that later. Last week I worked 54 hours and Kory worked over 60 hours (including 2 all-nighter shifts for both of us). Kory's Dad worked 90 hours last week! Let's just say, the project is keeping everyone busy. Sorry that I am over a month behind on the blog :)

On July 20th Kimra Lee (my best friend Karly Jo's little sister) gave birth to beautiful baby Britlynn. The best day Kory and I were able to go down to Salt Lake and see the new mommy, baby, and family. I love the Buchanan family. Kimra looked absolutely beautiful, as always. Jake had that new father glow to him, and seemed so happy. Right when we got there I got to start holding little Britlynn. There is something so special about holding a newborn, I have only done it once before and I will always remember the feeling. Britlynn is such a pretty baby, and she has the cutest little features.

It was so fun to have a little bit of time to spend with Karly Jo, too. I love her and I miss her so much! I never realized how much I took for granted when she and Mark lived in Salt Lake. Now that they moved to Northern California I miss her like crazy! She just found out that she is having a baby boy, and she is due in January. I am so excited for her!! When I first met Karly Jo I knew right away that she would be an amazing mother one day. I can't wait until I get to hold her newborn baby boy!

Here are some of the pictures that we took after I got to hold little Britlynn forever :)
Isn't Kory so handsome!?

Baby Britlynn, isn't she beautiful?

My other half before Kory :) haha

We will make a cute little family ourselves one day (not soon).

I love this beautiful baby :)
